Birthdays:
Birthdays are certainly special days! However, we are not able to bring in any birthday food/treats at this time. Students may bring in a non-food item to pass out if you wish (pencils, stickers, etc.) for everyone, which would be done before dismissal.
Lunch: We will be able to host lunch visitors again! There will be a schedule for which days we will be able to accept 3rd grade lunch visitors (it will not be every day of the week and a schedule will be sent out at a later time). When visiting for lunch, only the student you are visiting may join you for lunch (no friends are allowed to join) in the designated visitor section of the cafeteria.
Breakfast is free for all students. Lunch will no longer be automatically free. Please complete the free/reduced lunch application. Your child’s lunch account can be monitored using “Titan”. (No longer My School Bucks!)
Conferences:
There will be announced times you will be asked to participate in a conference to discuss your child's recent test scores and progress. Conferences will be completed virtually.
Homework:
It is very important to go over the homework together because it reinforces the skills I am teaching in class. Homework is found online in Schoology under the Reading Course. Homework is due on the due date listed. Students may turn in homework up to three days late at a loss of 10 points a day it is late. Homework will count 10% towards the final grade.
Behavior Expectations…
Students are expected to follow the classroom rules in order to promote a positive learning environment conducive for everyone. Behavior interfering with the learning process with not be tolerated. Students will have opportunities to earn Dojo points for positive behavior. Students can also lose points for not complying with our classroom rules. Continually breaking the rules may result in the loss of Class Dojo points, as well as other losses such as silent lunch, phone calls home, parent conferences, guidance referrals, and/or office referrals, etc... Please keep in mind, if a student loses a point, they have been verbally instructed several times to correct the behavior first. At the end of the week, students may choose a prize based on the number of points they have earned. They may also save their points to use later. Please review the classroom rules with your child. Together we can create a positive environment for optimal learning.
Students will have an opportunity to become an Explorer of the month.
